Huangshan in Autumn

While it remains hot at the bottom in August, Huangshan Mountains are moving towards autumn, the most colorful and vivid season for sightseeing Huangshan. You will be ceratinly amazed to be in a world of fantastic views, comfortable temeperature and a variety of different colors. Since the raining season falls only between June and July, you are bound to have a much better chance to enjoy the breath-taking scenery of Huangshan in autumn.

The autumn scenery at Mt. Huangshan displays a magnificent landscape with clear sky and cool air. The red maple-leaves, yellow chrysanthemum on the slopes of the peaks and the prosperous green vegetation form a colorful Chinese painting of landscape. Having enjoyed the fall scenery of Mt. Huangshan, you will really begin to believe that the scenery on Chinese paintings indeed exists on the earth.

A visit to historical sites is your must after you get down the mountain, too. At the foot of Huangshan Mountain, there are several ancient small towns, and they look especially beautiful against the red leaves of autumn. The stone paved streets zigzag up and down with the topography of the mountain, and the murmuring brook glistens in the autumn sun. Among them, the old residence in Hongcun and Xidi Villages which are praised by many scholars as the "treasure house of ancient oriental arts of architecture," have been accepted by UNESCO as the World Cultural Heritage Site.
