Dragon Pearl Pavilion - Jingdezhen Imperial Ceramic Museum

Zhushan (Mount Pearl) has been the symbol of Jingdezhen for ages. On the mountain top is Dragon Peal Pavilion, which was built in the Tang Dynasty, but was destroyed and restored for several times. The newly- restored Dragon Pearl Pavilion is imposing structure of red bricks with upturned double-eaved roofs covered by yellow glazed tiles. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the imperial ceramic plant was set up here, officials were appointed and made to reside at the plant supervising the production of porcelain wares for the use of the impevial court. The pavilion was the representative building of the plant then, but has now become an important landmark of Jingdezhen. In the pavilion, a restored layout model of the imperial ceramic plant is presented. Along with it is an exhibition of the unearthed imperial ceramic wares produced at the prime of Ming Dynasty, one of Chinese ten Cultural Relic Treasure exhibition series.
