Welcome to Chengdu! Chengdu is famous for its three unique characteristics, which are "Heavenly Scenery," "Bashu Culture," (one title of Sichuan) and "Hometown of Pandas". Upon arrival in Chengdu, you will be met by your tour guide and taken to your hotel. The remainder of the day is for your free time to explore the city.

Day 2 Chengdu - Songpan (B, L)
Get up early and drive from Chengdu to Songpan (about 430 km and it takes about 9 hours), one of the 13 counties of the Aba Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of northwestern Sichuan province. On the way, you will enjoy the mighty Minjiang river valley. Located in the northern part of Sichuan, Songpan is a small minority town and a stopover place to/from Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou or Zoige, but worth exploring. With the ethnic minorities people of Hui, Tibetan and Qiang inhabiting there, Songpan itself is so very lively. The style and atmosphere senses quite special there.

More importantly, Songpan is a historic town, featured by a peace-craving political marriage of Princess Wencheng in the 6th century BC of Tang dynasty and the Songpan Battle in the famous 25,000km Long March(1934~1936) of Chinese Red Army. A sculpture and a monument was built in Songpan to memorize the 2 historical events respectively.

Day 3 Songpan - Huanglong (B, L)
After breakfast, you will drive to Huanglong, which is famed for its colorful pools, snow-capped mountains, deep forests, waterfalls and colorful cultures. In addition, the area is also home to many endangered animals, including the giant panda and the Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkey. The main attraction of the valley is the 3.6-kilometer-long and 3 to 7-meter-wide pale yellow calcareous deposits. Huanglong valley was denominated a special scenic spot of China in 1982 and entered "The Natural Legacy Lists of the World" in 1992.

Day 4 Huanglong - Jiuzhaigou (B, L)
Today, you will take full day tour to Jiuzhaigou Valley . It becomes a well known scenic area and a natural reserve for wild animals and plants in China. The mountains, lakes, grass, forests, animals and birds here are all keeping their simple primitiveness without a single trace of artificiality. Jiuzhaigou Valley contains the largest variety of sites and is typically visited first, such as Five-Coloured Lake, Five Flower Sea, The Changhai Sea, Swan Lake, Panda Lake, Nuorilang Lakes, etc. In 1992, UNESCO entered this scenic area onto the world natural heritage list.

Day 5 Jiuzhaigou - Chengdu (B, L)
