Day 1 Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing. Be met by our guide and transferred to hotel.
Day 2 Beijing (B, L, D)
After a hearty American style breakfast, leave Beijing by deluxe motor coach. Today you will climb the Great Wall, one of the world's fantastic architectural achievements. The tour continues to the renowned Sacred Way leading to the famous Ming Tombs. In the evening, return to Beijing for a special Peking Duck dinner party.
Day 3 Beijing (B, L, D)
This morning, explore the best of Beijing with a visit to Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest square. Around the vast square, you can see The Great Hall of People, holding the congress of the Communist Party and National People's Congress, History Museum, Military Museum and Monuments to the People's heroes. Under the famous Mao's portrait, which is positioned at the center of "The Gate of Heavenly Peace" entrance, you will walk into the Forbidden City (also known as Imperial Palace), which holds 9,999 rooms. Experience the intricate architecture and exquisitely designed layout of these grand buildings once housed by Chinese Emperors who ruled during the period of the Qing and Ming Dynasties for almost 500 years (1420-1911). After lunch, visit the spectacular and vast Summer Palace with an optional boat ride on Lake Kunming. Evening enjoy a memorable Peking Opera performance.
Day 4 Beijing - Xi'an (B, L, D)
In the morning, visit the Temple of Heaven, where dynastic Chinese rulers historically worshipped the Emperor of Heaven and prayed for bountiful harvests. It was a critical task for all emperors to perform rituals and tasks in order for his empire to reap successful harvests and good fortune. Capture the detailed essence of all the rich colors blended together on the hand painted tiles and roofing of the structures. This remarkable construction is pledged highest level of Chinese traditional architecture. After lunch, fly to Xi'an, home of the famed Terra Cotta warriors. Check into the Hotel.
Day 5 Xi'an (B, L, D)
Today is primarily devoted to leisurely viewing of the world famous Terra Cotta warriors, horses, and chariots buried with the first Chinese Emperor, Qin Shihuang. This amazing but megalomaniac man conquered and united China from a collection of warring states to become its First Emperor. He built the Great Wall and amassed great works of art. Obsessed with a quest for the secret of immortality, 70,000 workers built his tomb said to be filled with legendary treasures. His 3000 wives and concubines followed him to the grave. Over 8000 fantastic life-size clay warriors protected his tomb. The Famous Terracotta Army - is now referred to as the eighth wonder of the ancient world. Also, we'll tour the Banpo Neolithic Village Museum. The remains of this village, located just east of Xi'an and inhabited from about 4500 B.C. to 3750 B.C., were discovered in 1953. The museum was built in 1958. Inside the museum, there are the hall for the ruins, the hall for cultural relics, and the clay cave ruins. Visitors today can see the remains of 45 houses, 2 stables, more than 200 cellars, 6 kilns, and about 250 graves. A traditional Tang Dynasty Music and Dancing Show provides evening entertainment.
Day 6 Xi'an - Shanghai (B, L, D)
Depart by train to the cosmopolitan metropolis of Shanghai. Upon arrival, we'll be transferred to the Hotel. Later, we'll visit the world renowned Shanghai Bund. Take a glimpse into Shanghai's architecture and see how it looked centuries ago. This landmark known for its distinct neo-classic architecture of 52 European style buildings not only lined the Huangpu River but at one time in the past housed most financial institutions including national banks that were considered part of the "Big Four." Afterwards, we'll visit the century-old Yu Yuan Garden, the Jade Buddha Temple and emporium-lined Nanjing Road. In the evening you will attend a mesmerizing Shanghai Acrobatic Show which will conclude the night.
Day 7 Shanghai (B, L, D)
Today is a free day to explore the vibrant culture and lifestyle of Shanghai. Relax and indulge yourself by shopping at the stores along the Nanjing Road. Have a great time and enjoy the splendors of this magnificent city.
Day 8 Shanghai - Hangzhou (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we will take the high speed train (soft seat) for about one hour to reach Hangzhou, a city widely known as "paradise on earth". We'll be visiting the resplendent 4th century Lingyin Temple, one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China which attracts thousands of visitors daily. In addition, we'll visit Hefang Antique Street in Hangzhou, an attractive place for those Chinese antique fans. Wish you can find something you love! Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 9 Hangzhou - Guilin (B, L, D)
In the morning, we will cruise on the West Lake, a lake to which so many ancient and modern Chinese poets and prose writers devoted their literary works. Su Shi (1037-1101), a renowned poet in the Tang dynasty, once wrote in his poem My impressions of the West Lake's Rain or Shine:
The West Lake's ripples sparkle and twinkle if it's sunny;
The hill sights look pretty misty if rainy or cloudy.
How similar the lake looks like an ancient beauty,
whether she dressed up carelessly or carefully.
After lunch, we take a two-hour flight to Guilin, a city of surreal beauty. Be met our guide and transferred to your the Hotel.
Day 10 Guilin (B, L, D)
Depart your hotel in the morning and be transferred to the Zhujiang Pier (about 1 hour drive) for a 4.5 hours wonderful cruise on the Lijiang River connecting Guilin city and Yangshuo. This beautiful river offers fantastic scenery of extraordinary peaks and sprays that make you were in fairyland when you are taking the cruise downstream from Guilin to Yangshuo. Paint Brush Hill, Cock-Fighting Hills, Mural Hill, kinds of spots named as in Chinese habit, with your imagination, you will find unimaginable fascination. You will enjoy the picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, farms and villages with water buffalos, cows wondering around on both sides of the river bank. Disembark at the one-thousand-year-old town Yangshuo to take a rest to explore the West Street. Overnight in the New Century Hotel (4 star)
Day 11 Yangshuo - Longsheng (B, L, D)
Today you will take a biking tour to the Yulong River, the largest tributary in Yangshuo County, to explore the fabulous scenery in the countryside. Later on, we'll take a bamboo draft along the river. Then be transferred to Longsheng which is located in the mountainous region on the northeastern part of Guilin. The natural beauty and the colorful ethnic Chinese cultures and customs attract people from all over the world from day to day. Overnight in Ping'an Guesthouse
