Longsheng town is situated in a densely forested area of over 2400 square kilometers and has a population of only 160 000 people. It is surrounded by mountains in four sides and lies 100 kilometers north of Guilin, as well as in the joint area of Heping River and Sang River.
To get to Longsheng, take the coach at the General Coach Station in Guilin. Take buses from the long-distance bus station in Guilin. There are frequent buses leave from 6.50a.m to 5.20p.m.
For travelers heading for Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces, take the Common Coach (instead of Direct Coach) and transfer to Dazhai Village at Heping Village. Within the county, there are regular buses to the scenic spots, towns and villages of Longsheng and nearby counties.
Get in
There are regular tours to Longsheng and the nearby Dragon's Backbone rice terraces from Guilin or Yangshuo; this is one of the standard tours on offer in those places. In Longsheng you have to change busses to Long Ji Ping An Rice terraces or to the Hot springs.
